usually takes 20 years of experience to get light colonel but sure, appoint some corporate drones. This is exactly how you destroy a military from within, put in inexperienced people or peoples relatives, or politicians. As is the case with everything Trump does, Putin will be pleased.

    (thegrayzone.com)

    Hmm…

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grayzone#Reporting_and_reception

The Grayzone’s news content is generally considered to be fringe,[16][2][17][18] and the website maintains a pro-Kremlin editorial line,[26][49] centered around an opposition to the foreign policy of the United States and a desire for a multipolar world.[2] The site has been criticized for defending Russia and other authoritarian regimes.[2][20][39][42][50] In Reorienting Hong Kong’s Resistance: Leftism, Decoloniality, and Internationalism, The Grayzone was described as “known for misleading reporting in the service of authoritarian states”.[25] Nerma Jelacic, writing in the Index on Censorship, described The Grayzone as “a Kremlin-connected online outlet that pushes pro-Russian conspiracy theories and genocide denial.”[51] In 2019, The Grayzone had claimed the Commission for International Justice and Accountability, of which Jelacic is a director, collaborated with ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra affiliates.[51]

I’m gonna assume the headline is a lie.

The plan is for the military to weaponize AI, data profiling, and social media. That’s where all those execs are from.

As if that stuff hasn’t caused enough damage already.

Aren’t there research science positions in the military that are civilian positions, but also given a rank?

I might be misremembering but I thought that has been a thing for a while.

These idiots don’t even know the first thing about military leadership. This is an insult to everyone in uniform who had to work hard to reach this point and they’re going to make a mockery of it.

This became a thing in Trump’s first term. Passed Congress hidden in the defense Bill of 2019. Everyone was busy reporting on the bill also banning Huawei products.

It usually takes 20 years to reach this rank. Not only are they skipping basic and fitness, they could at least take the mandatory 4 week new officers course, right? Hah, no.

That’s not what this is about.

It’s about putting these companies under military control. Now they can be ordered to do shit by the fascists.

That just sounds like fascism done by pretentious techbros. “Dark Enlightenment” is just them trying to make it sound more mysterious than the absolute idiocy that it is.

It’s worse than fascism. It’s dissolving all the world nations into techno-feudalism, its billionaires controlling their own territories as kings. And it’s Peter Thiel’s goal among many others, generally the anarcho-capitalism crowd.

              Here’s a visualization

I’ll continue to say this every time that I see it. Feudalism. It’s just feudalism (or maybe neo-feudalism, with “neo” in relation to time period). Nothing about it is new. Nothing about it is really predicated on technology. Feudalism and similar mono/oligargic systems have always used available technology to oppress.

The only thing that they’re doing different is not bothering with “divine right” and being slightly more honest in that they believe having money makes the better. But that’s also been done before. No need to slap “techno” on the front of it to make it seem like it’s a unique situation that’s never been attempted before. They’re just another group of egotistical shitheads who have convinced themselves that they are special, unique, and superior, when they are none of these things. Just like all of the rest of the would-be kings in history.

Only if they want to keep their titles. This probably has more to do with allowing them to issue orders to specific people.

How would the companies themselves if no one else in the company is enlisted? The way I read it was that these goons are now officers in the Army, and have command authority over anyone beneath their rank, but that doesn’t apply to civilians (yet).

Most people that work for a company do what is directed of them by the execs of said company. These execs are under the command of the commander in chief. Entonces, the workers in those companies will probably follow orders of the government given to them through their execs.

Many people join the service in the hope that they can realize their fantasies of killing people without being held accountable for it. So naturally, there will be plenty of people who support a man who wants to give them that chance.
