Four senior executives at Palantir, Meta, and OpenAI have been formally appointed lieutenant colonels in the US Army following the creation of a “special” unit created for rich Big Tech mavens seeking military leadership roles. On June 13, the Army announced the creation of Detachment 201, otherwise known as the “Executive Innovation Corps,” which it describes as “a new initiative designed to fuse cutting-edge tech expertise with military innovation.” Four ultra-wealthy executives from top tech companies were sworn in to […]
That just sounds like fascism done by pretentious techbros. “Dark Enlightenment” is just them trying to make it sound more mysterious than the absolute idiocy that it is.
It’s worse than fascism. It’s dissolving all the world nations into techno-feudalism, its billionaires controlling their own territories as kings. And it’s Peter Thiel’s goal among many others, generally the anarcho-capitalism crowd.
I’ll continue to say this every time that I see it. Feudalism. It’s just feudalism (or maybe neo-feudalism, with “neo” in relation to time period). Nothing about it is new. Nothing about it is really predicated on technology. Feudalism and similar mono/oligargic systems have always used available technology to oppress.
The only thing that they’re doing different is not bothering with “divine right” and being slightly more honest in that they believe having money makes the better. But that’s also been done before. No need to slap “techno” on the front of it to make it seem like it’s a unique situation that’s never been attempted before. They’re just another group of egotistical shitheads who have convinced themselves that they are special, unique, and superior, when they are none of these things. Just like all of the rest of the would-be kings in history.
How would the companies themselves if no one else in the company is enlisted? The way I read it was that these goons are now officers in the Army, and have command authority over anyone beneath their rank, but that doesn’t apply to civilians (yet).
Most people that work for a company do what is directed of them by the execs of said company. These execs are under the command of the commander in chief. Entonces, the workers in those companies will probably follow orders of the government given to them through their execs.
Officer Candidate School is their basic training… One of the reasons I got out instead of crossing over to officer is that I didn’t want to go through basic training again.
Everyone in the military should take note. These assholes did not go through basic. But they have leadership roles.
That’s not what this is about.
It’s about putting these companies under military control. Now they can be ordered to do shit by the fascists.
Wouldn’t have to order them to do anything, they’d gleefully offer to do it first.
All of them want https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Enlightenment
And every day we get closer to it

Only if they want to keep their titles. This probably has more to do with allowing them to issue orders to specific people.

I don’t think officers go through basic training anyway, they have officer school instead.
Officer Candidate School is their basic training… One of the reasons I got out instead of crossing over to officer is that I didn’t want to go through basic training again.
Which includes…
Officers 100% go through basic. Sometimes twice.
They still have to go through basic.
