  • Well some products will go down at first, the ones they can’t sell to other countries any more the supply will skyrocket until they cut production to reduce their losses. So perishable things like certain food, will possibly decrease for a season, then will go up higher/possibly “sky rocker” as when you produce less your profits are lower, so they will have to mark them up / some people will just stop farming. The possibility of the bees dying out seems more worrisome than the tarrifs long term though for many foods.

  • The economic failures of the Biden administration consisted of what, failing to have a populous who votes for a good legislative branch? The only thing he could have done differently is be a dictator and/or force the fcc to shut down and stiffle far right propoganda. Which would still be overreach, being a entity meant to be non partisan.

The economy bounced back from COVID. Wealth distribution was what was horrendous. A Republican majority Congress passed nothing to help with wealth distribution issues. For 1, because it helped get them back in office, and for 2 because they are mostly despicable people.

  • There really isn’t a good option there. Someone with a gun goes to protect these people in the car. Ice calls in back up/police or just guns down the shooter, label a terrorist, double down on their claims these people were in fact threats and get the insurrection act passed on Sunday do to media outlets using fear mongering against people who want the constitution upheld.

A single person or a group of 5 even with guns can’t do anything to help singular people against an army. Also the right has pushed for years, “they don’t care about you so why should you care about them”. Many conservatives have been divided intentionally. Taught to not help anyone but themselves, or maybe their family, but they will choose themselves over family most times.

Those 1-5 people would have more of an effect not fighting the random ice officer on the street but doing other things, most of which require coordination and cooperation without any means of large scale communication.

  • Last I saw it was reported around 17 hours per phone on labor. They won’t get away with less than $20/hr plus benefits here. So that’s around $22.50/hr. ~$380 of labor per phone just on construction. Every individual part/material will have to pay a tariff coming into the country as well unless you are going to make those here as well at the higher costs. 100% of their profit margins would be eaten up. So there are 2 options, raise the price by 50% to keep their profits, or exploit cheap labor elsewhere. They made their choice to move to India previously and India faces a 27% tariff. They keep their profits higher and prices lower by not moving manufacturing of the phone here.

  • Oh I’m sure they aren’t great people. They make most of their money off swindling insurance companies for huge settlement offers due to work/car injuries. That said, if you’re trying to get a huge settlement from Walmart, they are probably a good bet though. Also I know they turned down a case years ago when my dad went to them about his mother. She had surgery where there was no cartilage left in her ankle. They decided to screw her ankle to her foot essentially making it unable to move but reduce the pain. When she was in recovery they kept forcing her to get up and walk on it and she kept saying it hurt to much. Weeks into the rehab they said she wasn’t trying to put in the work. Then after a lot of arguing we finally got them to do new X-rays. Of course they found hairline fractures around the screws they placed. The insurance company/Medicaid and what not all said they wouldn’t cover any rehab time after the fractures were found because that time was used up during the period they were trying to force her to walk on a botched surgery. Morgan and Morgan turned down the case, and she reverse mortgaged her house to cover the rehab time. America at its finest
