So läuft das eben außenpolitisch bei den USA.

Why do you consider AppImages as last resort?

Mainly because you cannot manage them properly.

Installing from the repos I have pacman, from the AUR I can use one of the various AUR helpers (most of them can forward repo package updates to pacman, so I really have just one command to update the system and all AUR packages).

When making my own packages I usually also put them in the AUR (plus, it is super easy to do make an own package and put in in the AUR) – and from there an aUR helper takes care about updates. Flatpaks can also be updated very easy by just running one command.

So: All of those have a specific location where they install and allow me to start them easily because they put a script/link somewhere in $PATH. All of those can be easily maintained and updated.

Last time I checked, AppImages had none of those. Neither could I easily update all of them on my system, nor is there a dedicated location to place them, nor is there an “unified” (i.e. something in $PATH) way of starting them. I have to manually check for updates, re-download the whole thing, replace the current AppImage file in an arbitrary location.

This is just how I do not want to maintain my programs.

Repositories > AUR > Making an own AUR package > Making an own package not in AUR > Flatpak > Using an alternative to that application > consider if I really need it > AppImage

Das machen alle anderen großen Firmen genau so. Da ist jetzt nichts besonderes bei Tesla.

So sieht es nämlich aus! Die Infraschallemissionen eines Windrades sind im Vergleich zu einem Auto absolut vernachlässigbar und schon nach kurzen Strecken nicht mehr messbar.

Na ja, wie gesagt, im Mittel zahle ich weniger, da ich keine Luxusmarken konsumiere. Und auch bei den Angeboten von Luxusmarken zahle ich weniger, da die Handelsmarken der Discounter selbst bei Rabattierten Luxusmarken im Vergleichspreis oft noch günstiger sind.

Aber was kaufst du dann?

Das, was im Vergleichspreis (pro Kilo, pro 100ml, etc.) am günstigsten ist. Und das sind in den meisten fällen die Eigenmarken. Dass diese oft auch von „großen Anbietern“ kommen, ist mir schon klar. Aber ich zahle nicht 4 Euro pro Kilo mehr, nur weil da ein großer Markenname drauf steht.

Außerdem kaufe ich ja nichts was ich nicht brauche, nur weil es gerade im Angebot ist.

Was die Angebote angeht, die du mit deinen Kundendaten bezahlst, klar, keine Frage. Im Mittel aber nicht, da ich die angebotenen (Marken-)Produkte sowieso nicht kaufen würde.

Natürlich bin ich betroffen, schließlich zahle ich mit dem guten alten Plastikgeld. Der Supermarkt weiß genau, wann ich welche Eigenmarken auf meiner Liste hatte. Für mich selbst ändert sich dadurch aber nichts, weil ich mir die Liste vorher mache, und halt eben wirklich nur das kaufe, was auf ihr drauf steht.

Das hat sich doch nie geändert.

Bin ich froh, dass ich von diesem Scheißladen weg bin.

Ja, und die App hab ich auch nicht, und ach keine Deutschlandcard, und kein Paypal, und meine Postleitzahl verrate ich auch nicht.

Irgendwie bin ich null empfänglich für diese “Tricks”. Ich weiß ja vorher was ich kaufen will, gehe durch den Laden, und kaufe auch nur das.

Dreitausend Tonnen sind mal 'ne Hausnummer! Da möchte man lieber nicht, dass der, der das ganze vorne steuert, nur gerade so mit Ach und Krach die Prüfung bestanden hat.
