The USA also has a low unemployment rate. I used to live there. I already know what it’s like to live in a place with essentially indentured servitude. It’s fucking pointless to make money if it doesn’t cover food and rent even.

If you like having an economy like that, go for it. I don’t live in shitty places like that anymore. There’s a reason Finnish people go to Greece often for vacation - because we can actually have vacations, and because clearly people don’t make much and that’s why it’s so cheap.

Fix your damn worker rights already.

The USA is not comparable because they have illegal immigrants who distort the unemployment rate.

There has to be labor shortage for wages to rise. If employers can, they hire illegal imigrants instead of rising wages.

This means there can be bad employment conditions even with a low unemployment rate. Greece shouldn’t have that problem so living conditions will improve.

Greece was the place Syrians went to, to cross into Europe. It is also a pretty good route coming from Africa via the Middle East. Obviously capitalism ends up exploiting them in Greece, just like in every other country in the world.
