Also zeppo@sh.itjust.works. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.

I don’t save stuff with it but I read the articles that come up on desktop. so it’s kinda like a community, subreddit, rss feed, whatever
I enjoy pocket for the articles that come up on the new tab page. I’ve never once saved an article for later with it.
The people who believe a kid in Africa made a working automobile from balloons and that boats are pulling whales from the water and cleaning off thousands of barnacles will be 75-80 then.
That was me. It was a typo. Sorry
Yes, I meant to say 60 or 65 like OP did. Funny thing is I’m about 50.
Sure… OP said over 60, but I think over 65-70 would be more accurate for people who don’t know about generative AI at all.
I haven’t really heard anyone over 65 or whatever espouse the dead internet theory. Could be a trend I don’t know about, I guess.
I’m almost that age, and am technically adept also. I’d say the “old people on Facebook” age is a good bit higher. I’m sure some people who are 65 or 70 understand what AI is too.
Have they? What I’ve seen is people over 50 60 (really 65) have zero idea that AI exists and consistently fall for obviously absurd Facebook posts.
Edit, I see where some of these responses came from - OP said over 60, and I meant to say over 60 too, not 50.
can people even insure wank trucks?
Can’t even call it capitalism most of the time, just “liberals” which is confusing in US political terms.
What’s the actual problem then? You can’t name it either? Anyway, I’m not sure how you got from my post that I think the only issue with the US is this one specific degenerate.
Eventually the discussion came around to one basic question: Is Trump a reliable ally?
Why would anyone be wondering that? Of course he is not. Republicans and especially Tr*mp have made their views on Ukraine well known for quite a while now. This can’t realistically be a surprise to anyone.
Sure. You complained about that opinion, but it doesn’t mean I can’t hold that opinion. I don’t agree with your observations or conclusions. We don’t need more dimwit asshole conservatives here, if that’s what you mean by ‘wider audience’. That group already whines that Reddit is too leftist for them. I don’t really agree that Lemmy is more extreme in that regard, other than specific instances like .ml or grad. The politics I see here are not more extreme and I don’t find the user base ‘repellant’ at all, and I hold fairly typical US left views (would like more socialism, believe in human rights, universal healthcare, oppose racism, etc).
Um… okay, if the fairly mainstream for our demographic politics here repels certain people, good.
Travellers are being told to avoid isolated locations like hotel rooms.
Criminals use the apps to lure victims to public spaces like restaurants and bars, where they can be assaulted,
So… no public spaces, and not private either?
police removed her toilet from her home and searched it
Everything about this is insane and exactly what sensible people thought would happen.
As far as transactions, yes, something like Visa takes way less than Bitcoin. For HFT compared to crypto, who knows, but one thing they’re not doing is something intentionally wasteful like proof of work.
