  • I watched a match of American Football (kinda rugby with body armour).

It was soooo boring and went on FOREVER. They had a few tiny exciting parts, but they’ve got more than one referee and they’re constantly stopping the match to put down flags and discuss things and just generally do nothing, it ruins the flow of the game and leaves the observer with nothing to watch or do.

INCREDIBLY boring. So glad there was a model aeroplane show going on right behind the pitch and a bar, I was able to enjoy my pint and watch the planed fly around whole I waited for the American thing to get going again every time.

  • I was under the impression things like ReVanced were against the rules?

An actual fix wouldn’t be a suggestion to use an entirely different application or dodgy homebrew patch anyway, that’s just silly. That’s like saying “Your car is making a weird noise? Here, drive one of these other cars instead”.

It’s like those pretentious people who gleefully come out of the woodwork to comment “tehehe you should switch to Linux” whenever someone asks a question about a Windows issue. No help whatsoever, they’re just trolling because they feel superior and want others to know it.

Linux is a good OS, by the way. I use it, but I’m not a dick about it to others :P

  • Look I hate YouTube ads too, and ads in general, but let’s say every user of a service is like you. Attention is all the currency they’ll ever get from you, that’s totally cool, absolutely. I’m totally that way too. But they’ve got to make money somehow, so if you’re not the paying customer, someone else has to be.

I’m not saying it has to be ad sales either, but if we want a world in which we can use services for free without ads, we need to come up with an alternative way for them to make money. It has to come from somewhere, and by the bucketload.

If every user thinks like you, then it doesn’t matter how many people you talk to or share links with, you’re not a net gain on their service, you bring nothing to it.

Why should they, or anybody, be thankful that you honour them with your presence, if you contribute nothing of value? What makes you so entitled to use somebody’s product for free with no strings attached?

Ads suck, I’m eager for us to move past them once we figure out an alternative that keeps products in business and us receiving things for free. But we can’t deny the reality we live in right now either. Even huge companies like Google (who yes, do suck) have to make money to survive.
