Is there other platforms that are out there estimating our ages?

I know the whole age gate thing - being in the UK, believe me, I know. I’ve just never had a service go “we can’t show you content. No, don’t tell us your age, we’ll work it out from the data we’ve collected from you”.

That’s a whole new one for me, I must admit.

This comment is pure poetry. I actually want to have it on my wall, with a beautiful frame.

Unfortunately that would involve using the Brave browser, which is an antifeature in itself.

I think IRC wins by being around the longest, but also being dead simple to set up and use.

I tried using Matrix and it just honestly frazzled my head a little. I know it’s just a few extra steps to get registered, but it honestly feels like a few extra bits of friction to what amounts to trying to join a big social circle.

I left during the Reddit API nonsense, I wasn’t even aware Reddit was banning people.

I guess I had to stay longer for all that, which I refused to do.

I’m glad you said this, I was thinking “I just plug in the USB stick and install Linux”

In fact, the hardest but for me is remembering the special key to press upon boot up so it goes into boot selection mode and I can just select my USB stick…

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Do you prefer a big house or a small house?

Do I:

• Run a few commands to disable one app and keep my phone intact

OR

• Install a whole new OS to avoid one dumb AI app, and the OS only works with Pixel phones (which isn’t even my phone as I actively avoid touching anything Google in the first place)…

A tricky decision, indeed.
