It’s all relative. If i sit a few meters away from a 50 inch screen, then it’s roughly the same size as a phone screen held 30cm from my face. It’s just a matter of perspective.

The level of detail i can see is the same. My fancy earbuds make the sound quality essentially the same if not better.

The only real difference is i have to hold the phone to watch it.

Well, most people… not me, I have a folding phone with a stand, so for me, i can comfortably put the phone on a table on the stand that’s built into the case and watch from there. Works just fine.

Yeah, i didn’t really like Seinfeld. I liked Fraiser, but preferred friends. At the time. I think Fraiser aged better though.

I liked up to the end of the season with the time travel where they all jumped to different times a few years apart. Think it was season 2. After that, i just didn’t feel the show was coherent or interesting.

Its a real shame. The part with his brother is, in my opinion, the worst part of the show. It gets better and better.

Not to say its a bad part, i liked it. Its just that it gets better and better as the show goes on, and the ending is great.

I dont k ow if you watched it when it was new, but today it’s not very funny. In the 90s, it was funny, but comedy has changed a lot since then, and some of the show is not very “woke” if you will excuse the term.

I think there are still funny and quotable moments but i dont think any of it would resonate with a younger audience. Comedy today is so much better and different to then. And a lot of shows that have come along since friends have used plots and jokes from the show and done them to death so it seems unoriginal and derivative.

I think this is all true of a lot of old shows. Tv is just a different beast now.

I can count almost perfect seconds. Most people think they can count seconds until they try to prove it.

Like, give me a stopwatch. I can count seconds to within an average of .05 of a second.

I can do this consistently over a long period of time, i gave up counting when i tested it.

It’s because i used to have 3 clocks in my living room, and they all used to tick at different times. I guess from when the battery was connected and it would create all these different rhythms.

After many years of hearing these rhythms and noticing the different rhythms that would be made as we changed the batteries over time, i ended up being able to tap the rhythm out on a table/in my head etc and now its just ingrained into my head.

I see where you are coming from, and have thought about this before when there was a group of people near where i live who were doing a sort of vigilante mob tracking down suspected pedophiles and terrorising them.

It just made me consider that they might be attacking people with a mental disorder who could/should be treated.

But just to speak to what you said, if they are non-offending, are you talking about the ones that dont physically assault children? Because the ones who are viewing and distributing csam are still harming children. Maybe not directly, but its like supply and demand, isn’t it? People make it if people want it.

I think perhaps even the violent ones should be treated for a mental disorder. Maybe punsihed too, but if you draw parallels to other violent crime, many argue other criminals should be rehabilitated. Should this extend to pedophiles too?

The more i type, the more nuanced this becomes in my head. Perhaps that in and of itself is evidence that despite the obvious knee-jerk reaction to probably one of the most heinous things a person can do. Perhaps there is just more to this than anyone is brave enough to admit. (I say brave because anyone that sees you defending a pedophile automatically accuses you of being a pedophile, which is a fucking pathetic leap to make)

Having said all of that. If anyone ever did anything like that to my kids, i would rip their fucking heads off.

Capitalism has fueled the growth of industry, which has accelerated global warming, the destruction of flora and fauna that are essential to life as we know it. It has created billionaires who only care about being richer and planted the belief in billions of peoples heads that they need to strive to this goal as well.

You can blame governments all you want. But i think thats too simplistic of a view of where the corruption started. They didnt bribe themselves into allowing people to become billionaires. It was a slow process with many moving parts and the greed, fueled by capitalists is why we are in this state.

Just blaming the government is ignoring so many factors.

I personally would prefer to live in a world that only develops things it needs, including leisure items/products but not in excess and never in the name of profit. We shouldn’t bankrupt half the world to sit on our IP thrones and call it good.

As i stated, multiple times. Yes, 80 dollars is a lot. And arguably too much.

But to bring up the very first thing i said again. It’s just not new.

Admittedly it is more often than not the deluxe versions or 2nd tier of a games release that breaks the 80 dollar barrier but there are absolutely games over the past 5 to 10 years that have cost more than 80 dollars

Have you seen how much is costs to buy destiny the game? With all of the expansions (which sometimes get “sunsetted” meaning they take the content away as it becomes defunct due to power level shift and game mechanic altereations as well as light level resets)

Depending on where you buy it and what deals are on and if you buy the whole bundle or buy it in stages, it’s anywhere between 150 to 280 dollars. And then that game is riddled with microtransactions.
