But there was an agreement, which was signed even by Russia that, when Ukraine gives up their nukes, Russia will NOT attack Ukraine. Ukraine gave up their nukes, and we see the fruits of this. I also do not think that all the history around NATO is the main reason for Russias war against Ukraine. Already several times it was said that Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet power, just this time run by Russia and not the Soviet Union. Otherwise I do not understand why they are threatening to attack the Baltic states or Poland, which joined at a time when there was even no discussion about NATO thread or warnings from Russia. As said, this fits well in recreating the previous Russian influence with its satellite states than in any made up reason concerning the NATO.
Any sources or did your St Petersburg boss told you to say this?
Kaja Kallas is really awesome! She and her team are doing a great job. Happy to have her as a EU High Representative. It is also a great step to reach hand out to Moldova.
We have to start one day anyway and I do not want Russian soldiers say „hello” at the houses of people in the EU (even when Ukraine joins) - without at least not having paid a terrible price for it.
Why you are not sure about that? Honest question. What do you see positive in Russia considering its current threads towards EU members states, towards the continuous bombardo of civil buildings in Ukraine?
It is interesting to see how users here complain about Germany, when in Switzerland this practice is common since decades. Rarely heard that in Switzerland a foreigner did something atrocious and when, then, well, the Swiss passport is gone for sure with - often - a ban for years to enter the country. Result: little troubles with foreigners and efforts to from their side to be part of the Swiss society. Considering the fact that Switzerland has more foreigners than Germany, I think this procedure added to the success of Switzerland in terms of migration.
Defaults are generally who do not want to understand in depth what they are doing (no offence). Example from other sphere: in R-Cran (used to write statistical models), some functions have defaults to either choose a particular algorithm or an optimisation value. I have heard almost about nobody among students, PhDs and even higher up the ladder, who took the time to understand what is happening below the shell. Instead these people took just the defaults, it worked (result was significant), done. However, if they may have chosen another algorithm, things may have turned differently, which would open up a box with many questions concerning modelling adequacy and understanding of data. It is the same with defaults in Linux.
Can you give 1-2 links, please? Would like to see these guys and what are they saying.
How comes that Vim is proprietary? Jetbrain offers community versions which are afaik open source too, so you can look at the source code, you do not need to pay or agree to an EULA.
Just figure out their names and living places. Once the shit is over, hunt them. All of them. And do whatever you like with them.
Don’t forget about Russia. It is already there and leading in its effort to turn some countries into the same political system, making thereby these countries their puppets aka satellites.
Attention Ubuntu users if you haven’t heard about it. There is currently a problem with the update, which is why it is stopped: Release Manager Simon Quigley on Reddit.
IMHO it is at first much more important that the distribution is running well, is safe, and gets the required support so that it can establish itself among the many distros and remains for many many years an entirely European distro! I do not care in the beginning if it is called Donald Duck OS, mc2 Linux or whatever.
I do not have a Slimbook but they look really nice on their webpage. However, I miss the possibility to choose among hardware components like with Tuxedo Computers, which is also located in Europe.
You should be careful to tackle the gaming community. There are many nerds and script kiddies who are well connected and who have little troubles to make your life less happy. Something which did not exist in the Eastern block, and especially not in Eastern Germany - remember: it wasn’t Eastern Germany where the revolts started against the regime! They just jumped on the train. Not few Eastern Germans are dreaming nowadays to have something like the German Democratic Republic back.
Give it a try. Perhaps they may give you at least a hint.
Pcmanfm? Nemo? However, if one does not need a GUI I would suggest ranger, nnn or alike.
Oh, I did not know about the possibility of replacing xfwm4 with i3. I too am using i3 for some years and like a lot to have a clean surface which facilitates focussing on my tasks. However, never thought about integrating it in a DE.
You mean like the Ukrainians in Butcha or the many Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russians? It is that way that Russians were treated in Ukraine? I never heard about it, but perhaps RT has made a (pseudo-)documentary with paid actors out of it.
I have known few Russians, and in my experience, they often move to a new country with little intention to integrate (we had and have still parallel societies with Russians in Europe). It is also of no surprise to me that the Russians in the Baltic countries and Ukraine (and also in some other European countries) have little intention to learn the language of the country, which is driven by nationalism, dominance, and pride.
