YouTuber MrBeast has issued an apology after his ‘MrBeast Experience’ at a Las Vegas resort did not live up to the billing.

The event at Resorts World Las Vegas was advertised as an “immersive” and “unforgettable” experience that included exclusive games, a MrBeast-themed menu and mystery bags thought to contain limited edition merch, including one with a $10,000 (£7,550) gift voucher.

Instead, the guests camped out in their hotel rooms waiting days for their bags to arrive. And when they did, the guests were underwhelmed.

“I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates,” Ms Metta said.

Several users said on social media that they received T-shirts in different sizes, which could be purchased for $9 (£7) online.

Mr Beast is the quintessential example of someone who defines themselves by their unfathomable success, attributing it to their unique work-ethic and dedication, and then collapses under the weight of their impossibly large ego

if you go to these or you let your children go, you deserve to get scammed, which is probably also Donaldson’s point of view. No respect for that guy btw, but I doubt he has little of it for himself either.

Does this weirdo have like one photo where he looks like he’s smiling for real, is he incapable of feeling joy or something. He definately seems like he’s on the spectrum when he talks, don’t know if that’s a contributing factor

As I recall, he’s spent the last several years sanding down his whole personality as much as possible so as to become as inoffensive as possible so he can cast the widest possible net for an audience.

Yeah, I don’t think this is a spectrum thing. He’s purely a manufactured identity. There’s nothing left behind the mask.

Oh, he 100% is. Not what he says with his words, but what he says with his dead eyes and propped up smile. He’s not chasing a dream, he’s running away from a nightmare of fame that has left him a hollow yet addicted for the high of fame that is no longer achievable. He is a man who shot for the moon and, instead of landing among the stars, found himself stranded on the cold, lifeless rock, drifting along forever, alone, exactly where he said he wanted to be.

He was in a video I watched once. I don’t remember the whole context, something to do with how he was so successful at working YT’s algorithm. Had never heard of the guy before then, and all of the content samples they showed were braindead nothingburgers.

Replying to a fan’s complaint on X, Donaldson admitted it “definitely isn’t the experience we hoped they’d deliver” and promised to make it up by inviting everyone affected to his studio.

I feel like this could have been on purpose. If it wasn’t he would have offered refunds.

The issue is in the text. “We hoped they’d deliver.” This wasn’t a Mr Beast project, it’s something someone paid to slap his name and branding on and they did what people who usually do this stuff do. Hoped the branding would carry them and made an experience for as cheap as possible hoping to take in the cash.

I’m not saying Mr Beast is a good dude, but the stuff that he is actually personally involved in seems to at least have effort, even if it isn’t good. This was definitely a “we want to do a show we will pay you so we can call it the Mr Beast whatever.” His team said fine and he let them do whatever, and this third party squeezed money out of it and bungled it.

I doubt it. Inviting to the studio is probably way cheaper - not everyone will do it since people would have to travel, and even when they come, there’s not much cost to a quick tour or whatever.

I’m assuming the hotel rooms were not paid for by Mr. Beast.

Never been to Vegas, but I’ve heard it’s obscenely expensive, and the owners jack room rates when an event like this happens.

“So, just wait in your room, that you’re paying for, to get your goodie bag.”

    That sum it up?

If there’s one thing Vegas resorts don’t want you to do, it is to stay in your room. You can’t be losing your ass on the casino floor up there.

I thought it would have something to do with that. Thanks for the info. I’m not a gambler, and I’ll probably never end up there, but good to know. Have a good one.

Most places will try to keep you there if you’re a whale.

Or they think you’re a whale.

Or you just lost a certain amount to them. Generally, if they’re comping you free drinks, it’s because it’s seen as more profitable than letting you walk.

Of course waitstaff might also comp you drinks because whatever- you’re a good tipper, they like you… you’re not a raging douche…. Or something.

I’m not a gambler either, but I live in a casino town, and I’ve gotten lots of drinks comped by sitting with $20 in a video poker machine while I drink and shoot the shit with my friends.

Just remember to tip well, and go in with the mindset that any money you’re betting is the cost of entertainment for the evening. It’s a fun way to spend an evening, and plenty of times I wind up going home with money that I would have just spent at a bar.

Travelling to Vegas and staying in a hotel there are actually both pretty cheap. The hotels want you to stay in their hotel so you’ll gamble on their casino and not someone else’s.

The sad thing is, once he really hit it big, he could have just done good will stuff and kept the money fucking rolling in.

He didn’t have to do * emotions to all of everything * this.

He could have hired a PR firm and a capable management staff, still had fun circle jerking his friends but actually be a positive force for society.

Everybody he has running the show is under educated, incapable, and unashamed of all this.

With that kind of money he should have a office building full of people working this shit out.

there’s no way this dude hasn’t hired a PR firm and management consultants. this is just the brand image he has now. remember that this dude used to make videos like counting to a thousand.

dude got a firm to tell him he’s Willy Wonka and now he has another firm sculpting that image for him behind the scenes. Mr beast and his crew are just the front end operations that can’t manage to stop fucking up on their own right.

The ghost kitchen venture and the chocolate venture were handled by external companies certainly It was just one of those slap your name on this thing.

But look deeper into the mismanagement of the events and the videos. Especially the last couple Vegas stints. Any event company would have had the first responders properly lined up and dangers managed. Especially in Vegas they do this kind of shit all the time.

Every single off the wall of event that he stages is just poorly managed. When people start asking questions and pointing fingers it ends up with him and his actual crew. There aren’t any adults in the room.
