Isn’t this a sign of heart failure?

Yes, but also liver and kidney. They attributed the bruising on his hands to frequent hand shaking or aspirin use. Aspirin use is pretty hard on the liver. If we could see his natural skin color, jaundice could narrow it down to liver failure.

Pedal edema is a sign of heart failure yes.

At his age with his lifestyle and diet? Dude has CHF fullstop. How advanced though is another matter.

Look, I know the world will be a better place without this clown, but this just isn’t how health risk works. Most smokers don’t get lung cancer. Most drinkers don’t get liver disease. Most people who die young don’t have any especially unhealthy habits. Life just isn’t fair in this way and pretending it is denigrates a lot of good people who are suffering.

President Donald Trump underwent a comprehensive medical exam that revealed he has a common vein disorder but cleared him of more serious illnesses, the White House said. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt also said that bruises periodically visible on the back of Trump’s hand are consistent with irritation from “frequent handshaking.” Leavitt’s disclosure of the 79-year-old president’s medical information came in response to questions about recent photos that appeared to show Trump with swollen legs.

The exam found Trump, 79, has chronic venous insufficiency.

As someone who has been treated for this, I can confidently say bullshit. His ankles are swollen like he got them beaten and broken with a crow bar for not paying his debts.

My professional medical diagnosis is he has demon legs with no knees.

Source: making it up but I’m right.

the blood thinners won’t save him… he should also be on the statins and auxiliary anti cholesterols… Additionally, he should be using a CPAP or BiPaP for his sleep apnea so could actually get decent sleep. But instead he just stays up and posts on his stupid social platform and watches cable tv instead.

Yeah, edema (fluid gathering, causing swelling) is a classic sign of diastolic heart failure. It’s caused by the muscle fibers of the heart stiffening, which reduces the heart’s ability to expand and draw fresh blood in between beats. Usually caused by a lack of exercise. The heart can’t draw blood back up from the legs, which increases blood pressure in the legs as blood gets pumped down but not back up. This extra pressure in the legs forces fluid out of the veins and into the surrounding tissues, causing swelling.

Nearly half of all patients with heart failure have a normal ejection fraction (EF). The prevalence of this syndrome, termed heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), continues to increase in the developed world, likely because of the increasing prevalence of common risk factors, including older age, female sex, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, renal dysfunction and obesity. However, we should be aware that the president’s ejection fraction has not been disclosed, nor has his BNP, Creatinine & GFR (or troponins/EKG). When was his last ECHO and Stress Test???

There is no way he adjusts his diet at all. He believes the body has a battery with a finite amount of energy and exercise is bad because it depletes that battery faster. There’s no way he has the mental capacity to understand he needs to change his eating habits when the doctors advise it.

Surgery on the elder is risky also because their minds don’t take anesthesia well. A lot don’t come back as the same people, their memories are wrecked, and usually they don’t last but a few more years after.
