Last week, top ICE officials ordered officers to increase arrests and to get “creative” in their methods, including trying to nab people the officers happen to encounter in what are known as “collateral arrests.” The orders come in the wake of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller setting a quota of 3,000 immigration arrests per day, along with a sharp rise in protests against the crackdown.

In Westbury, the HSI agents didn’t respond to the gathered crowd. After a few minutes, the agents drove away. A commotion erupted down the road, off-camera, and onlookers began rushing toward the corner.

One of the Nissans, carrying two of the HSI agents, had crashed into a black pickup truck that happened to be passing through the intersection. Three eyewitnesses told The Intercept that the agents’ car had sped away. Two of the witnesses believe the Nissan blew a stop sign, causing the crash. (Nassau County police referred questions about the accident to ICE, which did not respond to an inquiry.)

I’m thinking that if ICE et al keeps this up, pretty soon random people are gonna start taking sneaky potshots at them. Amongst many, many other things, these dipshits are actively making their own jobs wildly more dangerous.

Sniping ICE agents would make things much worse much more quickly.

Maybe the progression of violence is inevitable, but once you start killing pigs, it will all happen very quickly.

Look man, I am a protesting, pro-physical intervention, pro-whatever it takes leftist. All I’m saying is random people shooting at ICE is going to end protest and resistance, and begin the part where the government shoots and kills protestors and resistance on sight.

If you think that’s the best plan, that’s fine. I do not. I think there is more that needs to happen before the shooting starts.

I own many guns. I practice with them. I have thousands of rounds of ammunition. When the government starts shooting people, I will decide if I’m ready to die to protect my family and community.

But I’m not gonna kill myself and dozens of others by foolishly “taking a pot shot” at these fucking nazis.

If you’re afraid of attacking their person, then attack their property.

We can all work together to make sure ICE agents don’t get nice suburban houses that aren’t covered in eggs and toilet paper.

We can all work together to make sure their tires don’t have air in them as often as possible.

Oh shit, yeah. Can’t have the military in our communities.

checks outside that would be even wirse than those guys in camo and modern gear holding rifles stranding around. The grey painted armored vehivles with doohickeys on the roof. Much less scary than having the military in my community.

I watched most of the people i love die of cancer.

I feel like it’s pretty much what they deserve.

I hope they die of treatable cancer, because no doctor will touch them. That would hurt worse. I’ve been on the edge of death a couple times, and the ones where nobody could have helped didn’t hurt emotionally anywhere near as bad as the ones where anybody could have fixed it.

not so fun fact, non healing burns/scars /wounds are known to cause rare form of skin cancer(agressive SCC), yess squamous cell cancer can be quite deadly, if it forms from a burn scar.

Westbury: “in Latino-heavy New York suburbs.”

Ummmmmmmm… Unless Westbury changed in the 6 months since I’ve been there, it’s a really wealthy area. Not that Latinos can’t be wealthy, but my dad lives there, I’m literally going there Sunday. I wouldn’t exactly describe it as Latino-heavy, unless you aim to describe the entirety of Long Island as Latino-heavy…

Indeed. Which honestly the characterization of Long Island as being “Latino-heavy” isn’t exactly wrong. Everywhere I’ve worked (almost all of my work history is blue collar) I’m side by side with a not insignificant number of them. I’m honestly glad I took my father’s advice and learned some Spanish in highschool, because it has been handy at work although admittedly I’ve forgotten most of it lol

Where ICE fucked up is publicly and repeatedly showing they go after the weakest target.

Compliance gets you nothing and costs you everything.

And eventually, there’s going to be a point where there’s no easy targets that won’t resist left

Either they’ll already have been taken, or they’ll realize compliance is pointless.

This is America, we got more guns than people. If you’re already facing deportation to a fucking death camp, a gun charge ain’t gonna mean shit.

I’m not saying people should, because it’s gonna lead to horrible shit, but the writings on the wall, it’s gonna start happening if ICE keeps it up

ICE’s behavior has emboldened criminals to impersonate ICE agents to rob and kidnap people. This is going to end very badly indeed because a reasonable person would arm themselves when this becomes as common as it is likely to get. And a lot of people are going to get shot and killed.

I’m taking action in unarmed ways. Floated the idea of a gun past my wife and she was vehemently against it. Sometimes she just needs to sit with an idea for a bit so she might come around. Ironically she has more experience with a pistol than me. I’ve basically only fired an M-16.

We’ll see what happens today. Once the government starts shooting people, or the civilian Nazis do, I think the die is cast. I think the necessity will be clear. But it might be too late at that point.

Make waiting too long to quit the job ruin their lives, and the lives of anyone around them.

Anyone who fucks them, serves them coffee, gives them a loan, treats their injuries, or rents them a room at a coffin hotel, should be made to regret it.
