Lando Norris has insisted that he believes he remains the best driver in F1 “at the minute”, despite losing the points lead to McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri.

✋ daring overtake at an unusual spot to surprise a 7 time champion

👉 try the same overtake at the final corner twice, giving up DRS down the main straight

Such a frustrating sequence. Driving desperate vs driving smart. Lando seems to exist in a state of semi-panic a lot.

Norris doesn’t have the mentality to fight for the championship. He’s good when the stakes are low but the higher the stakes get the more he starts to make mistakes. He simply gets stuck in his own head.

Very polite. From the words only in that article, his consistency isn’t there while I believe his teamate is. Regardless of total skill, which I might agree that lando has more of today, lando’s the more risky driver.

It’s a good season to watch maclaren battle each other so close, while Ferrari and Redbull driver pairs have skill gaps, within the cars they drive. I think Mercedes surprisingly has a closer pairing.

I hope this point gap stays small until the end of season, a dramatic battle at the end would be pretty fun.
